Rush Revere and his horse Liberty are able to travel through time together, and they use this skill to teach Mr. Revere's history students. In this first book, they're learning about the Pilgrims that came on the Mayflower, and students Freedom, William, and Elizabeth feature prominently with Elizabeth being the antagonist who causes problems for Mr. Revere and the other students. The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis is a delightful fantasy story about the beginnings of the travels between our world and the world of Narnia. Polly and Diggory, two friends in late 1800s London, find themselves unexpectedly on an adventure to other worlds ("not other planets; they're part of our world and you could get to them if you went far enough") including Charn (where they meet the evil queen Jadis, and Narnia as it is just beginning. Unfortunately, they drag along a few other people and a horse, as well. With Jadis now loose in Narnia, what is Diggory to do? He needs to do something, since he woke her up in Charn (deliberately) and brought her to Narnia (not deliberately). Fortunately, Aslan has a solution. But will Diggory, with Polly's help be able to accomplish it?

The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis is an exciting fantasy advnture for middle grade readers and older. Eustace Scrubb and his schoolmate, Jill Pole find themselves in Narnia after running through brush to escape school bullies and finding a door open in the wall that borders their school's property. Aslan wants them to help the Narnians find the lost Prince Rilian, son of Caspian the 10th. Despite several mistakes, the two friends manage to get going on their adventure. But will they be able to find the lost prince, or will they end up like all the other heroes who have tried, and just...mysteriously disappear?
